Elbow
The elbow is the link between the shoulder and hand; it consists of three bones, the humerus, radius, and ulna. The combination of the movements at the elbow – flexion, extension, supination, and pronation is essential to provide the various minute movements of the hand during functional activities.

Elbow injuries can be the result of overuse, trauma/falls, and sports injuries. Symptoms can radiate to the hand and fingers, or be referred from the cervical spine and shoulder. Because the cervical spine and shoulder can produce signs and symptoms to the elbow careful and thorough assessment will need to be performed to differentiate the cause. Your doctor will provide a medical diagnosis and your physical therapist will assess and provide a plan of treatment. We’ve assessed and treated many diagnoses, including:
    • Fractures: traumatic, avulsion, stress
    • Arthritis
    • Tendonitis
    • Osteochondritis
    • Lateral/medical epicondylitis (tennis/golfers elbow)
    • Nerve entrapments
    • Bursitis
    • Ligament tears/ruptures
    • Ulnar collateral injuries
    • Sprain/strains
    • Repetitive strain injury
Following a personalized evaluation, a plan of care is discussed and outlined. Additionally, a personalized home exercise program, and prevention program will be advised.
